Children and Young People’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Local Transformation Plan

The East Sussex Children and Young People’s Emotional Health and Well Being Local Transformation Plan is a five year (2015-2020) plan. We refreshed it in 2016, 2017 and 2018 and have done so again in 2019, to provide an overview of our progress in delivering our commitment to sustainable whole-system change. We have also taken this opportunity to reflect on our achievements so far and consider how exciting developments, such as new online support and the development of the iRock ‘youth hub’, will enhance and help steer our efforts moving forward.

In delivering our Local Transformation Plan, the East Sussex Clinical Commissioning Groups; NHS Hastings and Rother CCG, NHS Eastbourne, Hailsham and Seaford CCG and NHS High Weald Lewes Havens CCG are working collaboratively with children and young people, East Sussex County Council, Public Health and Schools Services, Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust , NHS England, and other partners.

Each plan has been underpinned by a vision that was agreed together with young people, their families and carers:

We believe that all services for children and young people, and their families, can and should play a role in promoting positive mental health and emotional well-being in children and young people. We also believe that all organisations concerned with children and young people should work together to make sure services are of the highest quality, easy to access and provide every child and young person with opportunities to achieve as much as they are able to.

You can read and download a draft of the 2019 plan, with the full costed report scheduled for publication by the end of December 2019. This will replace our previous plans from 2018, 2017 and 2016.
